AI Assignment Library

Welcome to the AI Assignment Library

Here you will find assignment examples designed to inspire and guide educators in the effective integration and regulation of Generative AI in education. The sample assignments curated within this library are designed to encourage the innovative use of Generative AI, prevent its misuse, or achieve a balance of both. We are committed to continually expanding this library, and fostering a collaborative and evolving resource for all.

AI & Assignments: Best Practices

In light of Generative AI in Education, there are a few key elements that educators can incorporate in their course tasks and assignments to ensure originality, quality, and integrity in student work. These elements include:

  • Specific and unique writing prompts that challenge students to think critically and make connections between content and ideas specific to the course, making it difficult for AI to generate relevant responses.
  • Personal reflection tasks that require students to incorporate their own experiences, opinions, and insights or that ask students to think critically about their learning process.
  • Transparency about allowed resources, clearly and explicitly outlining course policies surrounding AI and which AI tools may or may not be used on a particular assignment, providing specific examples to help guide students.
