We are thrilled to announce a significant update in the EHE commitment to delivering high-quality digital education and ensuring an exceptional learning experience for our students. After careful planning, university collaboration, and faculty input we have transitioned from the Quality Matters review process to an approach tailored to digital pedagogy, call the Course Assurance process. The new EHE Course Assurance process will serve as the required review process for online (DL) and distance enhanced (DH) courses up for review by the EHE Curriculum Committee.
The Course Assurance process has been designed to align more closely with the unique needs and goals of our online educational programs. This shift allows us to implement a more responsive and holistic quality assurance framework that considers the unique needs of digital education.
Key Features of the new Course Assurance Process:
- Tailored Evaluation Criteria: the Course Assurance process allows for customized evaluation criteria that better reflect the specific needs and objectives of digital learning.
- Faculty Guided: this updated process utilizes an instructor self-review of their syllabus, content, and course delivery.
- Incorporation of Best Practices: through careful curation of best practices for online education, and collaboration with university partners, the Course Assurance process aligns to proven best practices for effective digital learning.
- Support and Streamline: the update process includes a step-by-step guide, and just-in-time support available from your Distance Education and Learning Design (DELD) partners. Further, this process allows for timely feedback to facilitate a smother process for instructors.
