1. Intra Center Research Forum
During the September research forum the CDLI research team presented a one page summary of the current research on the production and use of videos in online learning. The team also presented outlines for the center’s first policy briefs. One policy brief will address the need for data literacy across the K12 curriculum and the second will provide guidelines for K12 school districts on policies related to AI.
2. OETC (Ohio Educational Technology Conference)
CDLI staff submitted three proposals to the state educational technology conference in February 2024. The proposal included one on critical innovation, one on data science in the K12 curriculum, and on one selection digital tools for online learning.
August, 2023
1. Intra Center Research Forum
On August 30th, the CDLI team participated in the first monthly intra center research forum that covered several topics including:
- Research on the use of video in online courses.
- Ellicit – AI based tool for doing literature reviews.
- A recent article completed by the center research team on privacy and wearable data in learning.
- Finding connections between research and supporting innovation in digital learning in the college.
2. AI and Education
Each month CDLI presents five recent research articles on Artificial Intelligence and Education and provides a synthesis of the issues raised and contributions of each study. This month’s five research articles address the following three topics related to AI and K12 education:
- Early Childhood AI competencies (Su, Ng and Chu, 2023)
- Teacher acceptance and attitudes towards AI (Darayseh, 2023; Yau, et al. 2023)
- Teacher’s AI competencies (Ng, et al. 2023; Celik, 2023)
