Rick Voithofer
Associate Professor and CDLI Director of Critical Research and Innovation
Rick Voithofer is an Associate Professor in the Learning Technologies program in the Department of Educational Studies where he coordinates the Learning Technologies program and the online Masters in Technology (MLT). His research focuses on two areas teacher preparation and technology integration, in addition to the intersections of technology, equity and education. His role in CDLI will focus on supporting the integration of research into the activities of the center.
Detra M. Price
Professor and Executive Director of CDLI
Professor Detra Price’s award-winning scholarship draws on ethnographic and sociocultural lenses to examine the intersections of critical literacy education, technology, and equity-based curriculum development in K-8 classrooms. Dr. Price is the co-author of Advancing Racial Literacies in Teachers Education: Activism for Equity in the Digital Age, Editor of Racial Literacy: Implications for Curriculum, Pedagogy, and Policy, Volume 1, and Co-editor of Black Girls’ Literacies: Transforming Lives and Literacy practices.
Mariah Hagadone-Bedir
Graduate Research Associate
Mariah Hagadone-Bedir is a PhD student and Graduate Research Associate in Educational Studies at The Ohio State University. She received her M.Ed. in Critical Studies of Education from Ohio University and previously taught high school biology. Her research interests focus on wearable technologies, technology-enabled personalized learning approaches, and examining the effects of ICTs on educational outcomes and the educational system.
Jessica Kulp
Graduate Research Associate
Jessica Kulp (she/her) is a second-year PhD student in Educational Studies, specializing in Learning Technologies. She received her B.S. in Physics and Astronomy in 2021. She is interested in studying equitable pathways in STEM education and incorporating computational skills and data literacy into core content areas, such as math. She is also interested in the role of emerging technologies in education, such as virtual reality and generative AI.
